New ReviewerI purchased a Thor Motor Coach Chateau 22E on February 17, 2021 from La Mesa RV in Sanford,
Florida. The next day, my wife and I were walking around the vehicle and noticed a large
outward dent just above the rear tail light.
After climbing on the ladder and examining the roof,
many divots were discovered along the end cap seam where the cap interfaces with the roof.
We reported it to La Mesa RV when we brought the Chateau 22E in for the scheduled 30 days
post purchase service work. This was on March 10, 2021.
Thor and La Mesa determined that the rear end cap needed replacement and ordered the parts
necessary for repair. We then waited 31 days for the parts to arrive and return the vechicle for
warranty work.
On Saturday, April 17th 2021 we brought the vehicle back to La Mesa due to a large leak coming
in from the previous repair work done on the SiriusXM antenna and the Winegard unit that was
replaced. The vechicle was in the shop for 33 days awaiting additional parts and for the repairs
to be completed.
We also noted that the main door was still bent and needed to be looked at.
The door will not
fully close and allows water into the cabin. Later it was determined that the door needed
warranty replacement.
We picked up the RV on May 19, 2021 from La Mesa with the repair still not completed due to
awaiting parts. The previous day, I was informed by the Thor Tech Rep that additional parts
were needed to complete the repairs because the back wall was not the issue, but rather it was
the "radius block" that was causing the rear wall dents and buckling. He also ordered the metal
trim pieces and stated the the front cap was also not properly installed.
So far, La Mesa had replaced the fiberglass rear wall, the roof material, the dinette gouges, the
SiriusXM antenna, Winegard 2.0 unit, and adjusted the blinds that were all crooked.
On June 9, 2021, the Thor Tech Rep arrived to start the repairs on the RV.
I went out to La
Mesa RV in Sanford, Florida to take a look at the repairs. He informed me that the back wall
was delaminating and also that it would be better to send it back to the Thor factory repair
facility to fix it.
As of this letter, the Chateau 22E has now been in the shop for a combined 43 days and
counting. This is it's third time back in the shop for the same issues and we have never been
1able to use the RV due to the pending repairs and potential water intrusion. Furthermore, I am
making payments on this RV and paying interest and insurance payments for something that
was never used.
Now with it going back to the factory, an additional 2500+ miles will be added to it, decreasing
its value considerably, not to mention additional interest and insurance payments.
All my family wanted was a fun way to get out and do a little camping occasionally.
We don't
want the hassle and stress that this vechicle has created.
We have decided that we want to rid of this nightmare experience of owing a Thor Chateau 22E
and request that Thor Motor Coach re-purchase the coach. That's all we are asking

Sorry about your experience.
Try to move on and maybe buy a tent instead. At least you wonโt have a slide problem, leaking bays or lifting floors!
