Defective gel coat
Our 2 year old 28Z motor coach looks like it is over 10 years old.
The gel coat has faded despite waxing and covering when not in use.
Dealer and THOR said too bad. It is the Florida Sun that has damaged it and we are not responsible.
Dealer sent photos and report to THOR in May 2018. Thor denied the gel coat was defective.
We have seen numerous RVs on the road with the same problem. They don't all live in Florida.
- We shopped for 8 years before purchase and love our rv
- Gel coat problem not resolved by thor or dealers

Manufacture defect not warranted
Awning started pulling away from side of Motor home 18 months after purchase. Manufacturer (Thor Motor Coach) would only provide information on how to fix problem.
Unfortunately this should not have every occurred in the first place and should be corrected by Thor, since the bathroom has to be dismantled and torn out to fix the problem at my expense. Manufacturer said That longer bolts would have to be used to go all the way through outside wall to inside to secure bracket.
This would entail removing the shower enclosure and a duild out wall in order to accomplish this. Very expensive

Slides
Had problems with the bed room slide when I pick up the 2019 new challenger 37fh . I final got they taken care and park it at home.
Moved it down to a camp to open it up to load and start on a trip. Now the living room will not open. I look in the compartment above the driver side and in the control box it is flashing red. I have no ideal what it controls.
This my second thor and after aback in the shop few trips ever thing work. With all the problems we have with the slides why not try a new system. Monday 18,2019 back in shop to check problem.
This causing people a lot of time fixing thor. Please fix the problem so when you buy a MH you should be able to start enjoying camping with going to a repair shop.

Poor QC measures at Thor and Camping World
Include my wife and I in this action! We bought this unit for FT living since my work is 100% travel
I am experiencing issues myself. I just bought a 2019 Thor Palazzo 37.4 and have had issues since before we took delivery. Numerous issues were addressed and supposedly taken care of before we took delivery, which we later found were not by Camping World. Within a week, several more issues were noted but the biggest issues were found within 2 weeks when we started getting lots of rain. Water leaking in at the middle of the D/S slide, between the OHC and TV, which we have to bath towels out because of how much water drops in. So, the next morning before I leave to go to work and I climb up top to remove any debris and to get excess water off the slide out toppers and I about feel to my knees. To start, there was a large piece of black duct tape on the right front area of the white roof, right over the passenger seat. I take pictures. As I turn to go back to the rear to climb back down, I notice two areas where light is seen THROUGH THE ROOF. I take pictures. Later that day when I get home, I go back up to see what is going on, I found a total of 6 holes in the membrane (to include the one covered by the duct tape). The areas I saw light coming through actually had holes in the plywood used to build it. One pair of small holes is over an area that has plywood missing.
So with these matters, in addition to a long list of other discrepancies had been brought up to Thor (TMC) and Camping World (CW). Many emails have been sent back and forth between TMC & CW, but the big kick in the *** was CW saying today that they don't think TMC will put on a new roof or authorize CW to do so.
This is why I started searching and found this place. I have been very patient with what has been going on with anticipation of getting my coach back to TX to have CW fix everything but now we have no idea when anything will be addressed.
Had to sue. No customer service. Blamed each other.
Worst Product in the World
We purchased a 2018 Thor Quantum KM24 (Mercedes Benz Sprinter Chassis) from General RV in Draper Utah April 25, 2018. As the vehicle we purchased was not available in Utah, we travelled to General RV in Grand Rapids, Michigan to pick it up.
Our brand-new RV has been out of service for the last 39 days as of July 9, 2018; currently, there are no viable options in place by the manufacturer to return the vehicle to service – this is an open-ended problem with no solution.
To meet the criteria for Utah’s New Motor Vehicle Warranties Act and the federal Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act, we are including the lengthy current open Work-Order from General RV in Draper, Utah, and addressing each item from the Utah Division of Consumer Protection, Department of Commerce website below:
• The vehicle must have been purchased in the state of Utah
Purchased April 25, 2018 at:
General RV
14295 Minuteman Dr.
Draper, UT 84020
(801) 307-****
(A copy of the Service Agreement is included)
• The vehicle must be new and under warranty
The vehicle is a 2018 model purchased April 25, 2018, purchased warranty is 5-years bumper to bumper
• The vehicle must be a car or truck weighing less than 12,000 pounds, or a motor home
The vehicle is a motor home, GVW is 11,200 lbs.
• The defect must “substantially impair the use, market value or safety of the vehicle.”
A long list of manufacturing and design defects is included in the dealer’s Work-Order (included) – the PRIMARY manufacturing defect that substantially impairs the USE, MARKET VALUE, AND SAFETY of the vehicle is the ‘full-wall slide-out’ (see item #15 on dealer’s Work-Order). This ‘full-wall slide-out’ never worked, and malfunctioned each time we used it, and still does, even after extensive repairs performed multiple times over 6 weeks at two different dealer locations since the date of purchase. This serious manufacturing and design defect affects the usability as well as the safety of the vehicle. Every time the ‘full-wall slide-out’ is extended, it binds and the motors, gears, slides, and rollers break – every time. The design and manufacture of the ‘full-wall slide-out’ is FAULTY and will NEVER work. In addition, the top, side, and cab-over walls of the vehicle were coming apart and spaces were opening between them (see item #3 & item #4 on dealer’s open Work-Order). Although this was repaired by the dealer, there is a high likelihood that this problem will continue throughout the life of the vehicle. Additional problems that impact the usability and market value of the vehicle are the poor gasket and seal installation, leading to gaps throughout the unit in the walls, ceiling, and floor, allowing leakage of rain into the vehicle and mold/rust in narrow spaces (see items #3, #4, #6, #7, and #8 on dealer’s Work-Order – we could see the sky above and street below while inside the vehicle).
• The vehicle must have been in for repairs for the same defect at least four times, OR out of service to the consumer a total of 30 days in either one year or the warranty period, whichever is less
This vehicle was purchased April 25th, 2018 and picked up in Michigan on May 11th, 2018. Since the vehicle was picked up at the dealer’s, it has been out of service and in repair four days in Michigan and 38 days in Utah and counting, and currently there is no anticipated date when it will be put back into service – that is 41 days out of service in the first three months as of July 8, 2018.
• The defect cannot be the result of abuse, neglect or unauthorized modifications of the vehicle
The defects are due to gross negligence during the manufacturing process, lack of quality control at the manufacturer’s, AND major flaws in the design of the ‘full-wall slide-out’.
• The consumer must first go through any informal dispute settlement or arbitration procedure the manufacturer may have established
The pathway to dispute settlement or an arbitration process with Thor and/or General RV is murky and very confusing. In fact, we believe the two companies may be one entity, as evidenced by the fact that General RV recently purchased a defunct Fort Motors plant in Wixom, Michigan and is utilizing it as an assembly location.
There is nothing in our owner’s manual about dispute settlement or arbitration, nor were we supplied with information on how to initiate dispute settlement or arbitration with either General RV or Thor Industries. Our phone messages and emails to Thor Industries Customer Service have gone unanswered – no one EVER picks up the telephone when we call. When we contacted the Draper, Utah General RV General Manager regarding arbitration with Thor Industries, he gave us a contact with General RV in Wixom Michigan, the Grand Rapids-area dealer where we picked up our vehicle. We have now way to engage with the manufacturer to initiate arbitration.
- Lack of quality control during manufacturing process
- No customer support
- Gross negligence in manufacturing
- No arbitration process

Thor only puts one coat of clear coat. We live in WA and it’s cloudy here a lot.
Our Thor paint is the same on a 2 year old 2017. Plus our front cap is failing . It’s only one of many , many issues . Cheap materials, inferior components.
No Quality control!
